UK nations November 2016: Renault Clio and Captur lead in Scotland

Thanks to our partnership with SMMT, today the Top 10 best-selling nameplates of each UK nation in November are available. Keep in mind this data is already included in the UK November update, this is a zoom-in by nation. For once all UK nations are agreeing and in positive this month, with Wales (+5%) leading the pack ahead of England (+3%) and Scotland (+2%) while Northern Ireland has to settle with a meagre 0.1% increase. Year-to-date, England, accounting for a whopping 86% of the overall UK market, remains the country’s engine of growth at +3% to 2.157.609 units, Northern Ireland inches up 0.3% to 55.275 while Scotland down 0.3% to 208.188 and Wales down 0.4% to 87.093 both skid down slightly.
The big event this month is occurring in Scotland: Renault manages a stunning 1-2, placing the Renault Clio in pole position with 860 sales and 5.6% share vs. 2.3% year-to-date (#6) and the Captur in second place at 568 units and 3.3% vs. 1.8% so far in 2016 (#10). Plus, the Kadjar makes its very first appearance in the Scottish Top 10 at #9 with 2.1% share. The Ford Fiesta tops England and Wales while the VW Golf is #1 in Northern Ireland ahead of the Hyundai Tucson. The Mini manages to rank inside the Top 10 of 3 out of 4 nations: England (#7), Scotland (#8) and Wales (#9). Other great performers include the Fiat 500 #5 in Scotland, the Skoda Fabia up to #5 in Northern Ireland and the Hyundai i10 #6 in Scotland.
