Finland October 2016: Volkswagen up 24%, Golf up 96% in stable market

The Finnish new car market is up by just 22 units year-on-year in October (or 0.2%) to 9.104 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 11% to 100.723. Thanks to sales soaring 24% on October 2015, Volkswagen reclaims the brands pole position off Toyota at 1.113 units vs. 985 (-24%) for the Japanese manufacturer. Skoda (-14%) rounds up the podium, distancing Kia (+23%), Volvo (+5%) and Ford (-11%). Renault almost doubles its sales year-on-year at +97% to #8, Honda is up 38% to #13, Seat up 104% to #16, Suzuki up 29% to #19 and Porsche up 100% to #26. The VW Golf surges up 96% to lead the models ranking with 4.9% share, ahead of the Nissan Qashqai at 4.6% (+6%), the Skoda Octavia at 4.5% (-11%) – still by far #1 year-to-date – Toyota Yaris (-16%) and Auris (-39%). The Opel Astra gains 39% year-on-year but drops 3 spots on September to #6, the Audi A3 is up 46% to #10, the Skoda Superb up 116% to #18, Audi A4 up 54% to #19, Seat Leon up 189% to #20 and the Toyota RAV4 lands at #21 and #29 year-to-date.
