Cyprus April 2016: VW Golf and Tiguan strong in market up 80%

The VW Tiguan ranks 6th – a clearing up before the new gen (above) arrives.

According to data provided by SEMO Cyprus and analysed by INNOSOFT, 1.183 new light vehicles found a buyer in Cyprus in April, a stunning 80% year-on-year gain leading to a 42% year-to-date improvement at 4.403 units. The VW Golf is victorious this month with 6.9% share but still lags behind the Ford Fiesta year-to-date at 244 sales vs. 285. The Nissan Qashqai and Toyota Yaris round up the April podium just above the Kia Cee’d, while the VW Tiguan and Nissan Micra leap inside the Top 10 at #6 and #7 and are now inside the Year-to-date Top 20. The Land Rover Discovery Sport holds itself inside the monthly Top 10 as do the Suzuki Vitara and Hyundai Tucson. Excellent performances also from the Renault Captur (#12), Honda HR-V (#14) and BMW X1 (#22).
