Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) Full Year 2015: Podium 100% Pick-up

For the first time on BSCB we now have access to official annual sales data for Côte d’Ivoire, a market up a solid 10% year-on-year in 2015 to 9.197 registrations. Threatened for #1 by Hyundai in 2014, Toyota sails off this year, almost doubling its volume (+96%) to 2.003 units and 21.8% share whereas Hyundai is up 14% to 1.316 and 14.3%. Mitsubishi shoots up 55% to pass Renault and Ford and land on the third step of the podium. Notice also Mazda up 142% to #6 and Great Wall maintaining itself inside the Top 10 brands in the country despite sales down 15%.

Mazda BT-50 Ivory Coast 2015The Mazda BT-50 is up 61% to #3.

Model-wise, the Top 10 is almost completely reshuffled, with the Renault Logan (up 103% to #9) the only passenger car: the rest are pickups (4) and SUVs (6). The one constant: the Toyota Hilux is the best-selling vehicle in the country, widening the gap with the rest of the competition thanks to sales up 90% to 9.8% share. The podium is 100% pickup with the Mitsubishi L200 up 46% to #2 and the Mazda BT-50 up 61% to #3. The Renault Duster drops one spot to #4 and the Ford Ranger drops three to #5. Another impressive gainer in the Top 10 is the Toyota Fortuner: up 145%.
