After falling 19% in July and 21% in August, the Chilean new car market is down just 4% in September to 28.669 units, the strongest monthly score of 2015 so far. The year-to-date total is still down a harsh 19% on 2014 at 205.783 units. For the second time in the past four months, Korean manufacturer Kia takes the lead of the Chilean brands ranking, however yet again this is due to a particularly weak performance by traditional leader Chevrolet at 8.2% share vs. 12.2% year-to-date, rather than an exceptionally strong performance by Kia, actually below its year-to-date level at 9.3% vs. 10.1%. Hyundai rounds up the podium at 8.9% share, while in the Top 10 Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford and Peugeot lodge significantly higher market shares than their respective year-to-date levels. Below, notice Ssangyong up to #11, Chery passing Great Wall as the #1 Chinese manufacturer in the country and Honda up to #21.
