Portugal June 2015: Renault Clio leads, Seat Ibiza shoots up

New car sales in Portugal continue to catch up on lost time at +34% in June to 21.063 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total halfway through 2015 to 100.652 units, up 33% on 2014. Despite sales up just 4% on June 2014, Renault remains the best-selling manufacturer in the country with 12% share above Volkswagen at 9.9% (+47%), Peugeot at 9.6% (+62%), Nissan at 6.6% (+84%) and Toyota at 5.9% (+88%). Notice also Seat up 6 spots on May to #6, Ford up 66%, Kia up 102%, Skoda up 108%, Smart up 171% and Hyundai up 176%. The Renault Clio remains the most popular nameplate in the country at 6.2% share above the VW Polo and the Peugeot 208 while the Seat Ibiza is up 6 spots on May and its year-to-date ranking to #4, the Toyota Yaris is up 25 to #6, the Toyota Auris is up 15 to #20, the Citroen C4 Cactus up 5 to #23 and the Mazda CX-3 up 11 to #77.
