Slovakia Full Year 2014: Octavia holds off Fabia and Rapid for #1

Very strong results for the Slovak new car market in 2014, up 10% year-on-year to 78,107 registrations. In the models ranking, an immobile podium hides vastly different evolutions: the Skoda Octavia holds onto the pole position by the skin of its teeth, with sales down 3% to 4,096 units and 5.2% share. The Skoda Fabia, boosted by discounts on the outgoing generation, is up 7% to finish the year at 4,031 sales for an identical 5.2% share, and the Skoda Rapid benefits from the addition of the Spaceback version to lift its deliveries by 53% on 2013 to 3,942 units and 5% share! A very close finish in Slovakia in 2014 indeed.

Outside the podium, the top selling foreign models reverse their ranking: the VW Golf (+26%) is up two spots to #4, the Kia Cee’d (+21%) remains at #5 and the Hyundai i30 (-17%) is down two to #6. Further down, notice the Skoda Yeti up 29% to #10, Hyundai i20 up 37% to #14, Skoda Superb up 32% to #19, Peugeot 308 up 85% to #24, the Seat Leon tripling its sales to #25, the Mazda3 up 175% to #32, Dacia Logan MCV up 337% to #33, Peugeot 2008 up 108% to #37 and the Renault Captur up 166% to #48.
