Scotland (UK) Full Year 2014: Fiesta ends 6-year Corsa domination

Based on data communicated by SMMT, new car sales in Scotland are up 8% year-on-year in 2014 to 221,570 registrations, slightly underperforming the overall UK market despite a sudden 27% surge in December. Big event atop the Scottish model sales charts: the Ford Fiesta puts an end to 6 consecutive years of Vauxhall Corsa domination thanks to 10,714 deliveries vs. 10,635 for the Corsa, both models commending a 3.8% share: a close call again.
Below the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra holding onto their 2013 ranking, the Renault Clio is up a splendid 47% to land in 5th position vs. #20 in the UK overall, while the Fiat 500 behaves similarly (+42%) despite its old age and gains two spots to finish the year at #6. The Vauxhall Mokka breaks into the Scottish Top 10 for its first full year in market with 4,202 sales and 1.9% share.
