Finland Full Year 2014: Skoda Octavia overtakes VW Golf to #1

Mercedes C-Class sales are up 60% in 2014 in Finland thanks to the new model.

The Finnish new car market is up 3% year-on-year in 2014 to 105,304 registrations, with the Top 3 best-selling brands unchanged on 2013: Volkswagen dominates again with 12.3% share, only 400 units above Toyota at 11.9% while Skoda rounds up the podium at 9.2% thanks to sales up a fantastic 15% year-on-year. Volvo (+8%) passes Ford (-5%) to #4, Nissan is up 10%, Audi up 11% to 6% share, Mercedes up 10% to 5.2%, Opel up 11%, Renault up 59%, Mitsubishi up 74% and Dacia up 84%. Reversely, Hyundai is down 36%.

The Skoda Octavia is #1 in Finland for the 2nd time ever.

The Skoda Octavia outsells its VAG counterpart the VW Golf to claim the models pole position for the second time ever after 2011 thanks to sales up 23% to 5,867 and 5.3% share. The Nissan Qashqai (-1%) resists in third place above the Toyota Auris (+17%), Yaris (+1%) and Avensis (-14%). Outstanding run of the Kia Rio up 7 spots and 27% on 2013 to #7, of the Audi A3 up 38% to #11, the Volvo V60 up 36% to #14, BMW 5 Series up 30% to #18, Volvo XC60 up 27% to #20, Mercedes C-Class up 60% to #21, Honda Civic up 51% to #21, Toyota Corolla up 69% to #26 and Opel Insignia up 83% to #27.
