With a bit of delay we now have access to All-models data for South Korea including imports for the month of October. Below the 5 locals (Hyundai, Kia, GM Korea, Renault Samsung and SSangyong), Mercedes remains the most popular imported brand in the country thanks to 3,511 sales and 2.5% share, with the E-Class the #1 foreign model once again at #23 and 1,575 sales. However BMW is only 31 sales below at 3,480 units and 2.4% while Audi (1.4%) and Volkswagen (1.3%) follow at a distance. Thanks to the new generation Cooper up to #45 and the Countryman up to #61, the Mini brand is now one of the 10 most popular in South Korea, dislodging Toyota.
Mini Countryman – Mini kicks Toyota out of the Top 10 brands this month.
The BMW 5 Series remains the 2nd most popular foreigner at #28 and the only other one to sell over 1,000 units this month (1,289) but the rest of the ranking gets a big reshuffle: the Mercedes C-Class (+9 to #32) and VW Golf (+16 to #33) kick down the Audi A6 (-5 to #30) and BMW 3 Series (-4 to #36), the VW Passat is relatively stable at #40 (-4), the Ford Explorer gains 20 spots on September to crack the Top 50 at #49 and the Mercedes S-Class is up 5 to #50.
