New car sales in Indonesia are up another 5% year-on-year in April to 106,811 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to a record 435,280 units after just 4 months, up 9% on 2013 which was already a record year… The Toyota Avanza continues to slip down, grabbing ‘only’ 13.2% of the market in April vs. 14.3% year-to-date and 17.5% in 2013… The culprit? The Honda Mobilio, confirming its newly acquired 2nd spot with 7,526 sales and 7%, however this is already way below the 9.4% it hit last month which means the model may have plateaued already.

Toyota Yaris Indonesia April 2014The Toyota Yaris is back inside the Indonesian Top 10 thanks to the new model.

The Mobilio now trails the Toyota Agya year-to-date by just under 1,000 sales for the overall 2nd spot. In 4th place, the Toyota Kijang Innova is back above 5% share, while the Daihatsu Grand Max Pick-up is up two spots on March to #5 vs. #9 year-to-date. Notice also the Daihatsu Ayla down two ranks to #8 and the Daihatsu Xenia sinking lower to #9 and 3.3%, another side-effect of the Mobilio’s fantastic success. Meanwhile the Toyota Yaris jumps back inside the Top 10 thanks to the new model at #10 with 3,064 sales and 2.9% share.
