Singapore April 2014: Toyota/Lexus remains on top

Lexus plays a big role in getting Toyota to #1 in Singapore this month.

After two months in positive, new car sales in Singapore are back in negative territory, down 7% year-on-year in April to 1,792 registrations, however the year-to-date total is holding up at 7,754 units, up 6% on 2013. Toyota/Lexus remains the most popular carmaker in the country for the 2nd month running thanks to 390 sales and 21.8% share, up 67% year-on-year, but is still #2 year-to-date below Mercedes (+10%) in spite of sales up 74% on 2013. Notice also Nissan up 81%, Hyundai up 159%, Mazda up 30% and Subaru up 93%.
