Bulgaria April 2014: Dacia Dokker reaffirms leadership

New car sales in Bulgaria are up an estimated 18% year-on-year in April to 2,381 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 8,380 units, up 15% or over 1,000 sales on 2013. As a reminder Bulgarian data is always to be taken with a pinch of salt as a large portion of new car sales in the country never make it to local roads but are re-exported elsewhere in the EU. See here for more on this phenomenon. In this context the Dacia Dokker is impressively back in pole position both this month and year-to-date, a ranking it held over the Full Year 2013, thanks to a huge month of April at 153 sales and 6.4% share, almost double any other model. The Ford Fiesta is back up to #2 and #4 year-to-date, the Renault Captur climbs on the Bulgarian podium for the very first time at #3 and the VW Golf is up 35 spots on March to #9.
