Sweden February 2014: BMW 5 Series and Peugeot 308 shine

The Swedish new car market continues on its euphoric run this year: up 21% in February to 21,525 registrations which brings the year-to-date total to 40,198 units, up 20% on 2013! The Volvo V70 remains the most popular vehicle in the country and improves its market share to 8% this month thanks to 1,719 sales. It is followed by the VW Passat up 2 spots on January to #2 and 1,112 units, while the Volvo S/V60 rounds up the podium with 949 sales. The VW Golf and Volvo XC60 follow but the hero of the month is the BMW 5 Series (like in Finland): up 4 spots on last month to land at a brilliant 7th spot with 463 units and 2.2% share, just above its lil sis the BMW 3 Series.
Further down, the other great performer of the month is the Peugeot 308 boosted by the new generation of the model and up 8 ranks to #17 with 295 sales and 1.4% share. Notice also the Kia Sportage up 6 spots to #18, the Toyota RAV4 stable at #20 vs. #33 over the Full Year 2013 and the Mercedes C-Class up 16 ranks to #22. The Dacia Duster smashes its record ranking for the 2nd month in a row at #24 (vs. #28 in January), the Renault Captur is up 18 to #28, the Subaru Forester is up to #32, the BMW 1 Series up to #33, Skoda Rapid up to #43, Fiat Freemont up to #48, Chevrolet Trax up to #60 and the Peugeot 2008 is up to #61.
