China December 2013 (Brands): Honda up to #2, DS lands

Citroen’s DS makes its first appearance in the Chinese-made brands ranking this month.

We will start the Chinese by a brands ranking including Passenger Cars, SUVs and MPVs. Keep in mind LCVs and import figures are not included in these totals. Volkswagen is in the lead by far as usual with 187,352 sales, and this month Honda follows, up 3 spots on November to #2 and 100,194 units. Hyundai is up one rank to round up the podium with 97,846 sales, ahead of Toyota and Nissan. Chery is in great shape, up 4 spots to become the #1 Chinese brand at #9 with 55,444 units, followed by ChangAn (54,668), BYD (48,148) and Wuling (41,773). But the big news this month is the very first appearance of Citroen’s luxury brand DS at #53 with 1,273 sales.
