In September the Kazakh new car market doesn’t disappoint: it is up another huge 90% year-on-year to 16,196 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 116,094 units, up 77% on 2012. The Lada Priora keeps the lead but is up ‘only’ 27% to 1,757 sales and 10.8%, followed like in the year-to-date ranking by the Lada Samara at 1,313 units and 8.1% (+41%) and the Daewoo Nexia with 1,059 sales and 6.5% (+126%). The Lada 4×4 surprisingly remains above the much more recent Lada Granta at 1,039 units vs. 953 and now even threatens it for the 4th spot year-to-date…
The Lada Largus is up to a record #7 in Kazakhstan this month.
After breaking into the Kazakh Top 10 for the first time last month, the Lada Largus gain one further spot to land at #7 with 570 sales and 3.5%, bringing the GAZ Gazelle down to #8. The valiant UAZ Bukhanka that took me through the Gobi desert in Mongolia earlier this month is back up to #9 in Kazakhstan thanks to 341 units sold for a solid 2.1% market share. Notice also the VW Polo up to #12 vs. #24 year-to-date, the Renault Duster up 397% year-on-year to #13, the Toyota Corolla up to #16 vs. #25 year-to-date and the Skoda Rapid up 5 ranks to #22.
