Happy times in Poland, with new car sales up 18% year-on-year in July to 27,647 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 193,422 units, up 2% on 2012. While we thought the Skoda Octavia had reclaimed its hold on the models ranking (#1 both in May and June) thanks to the new generation of the model, the Skoda Fabia says ‘I’m not dead yet’ this month and passes it big sister to find itself at #1 once again with 1,169 sales and 4.2% vs. 878 and 3.2% for the Octavia, this way reinforcing its 2013 year-to-date lead at 7,273 units and 3.8% vs. 6,426 and 3.3% for the Octavia.
The VW Up! breaks into the Polish Top 20 for the first time in July.
The VW Golf remains third thanks to 738 sales and 2.7%, whereas the Toyota Auris jumps up an impressive 10 spots on June to land in 4th place at 723 units and 2.6%, now ranking #8 year-to-date. Absent from the monthly Polish Top 10 for 3 full years until last month, the Hyundai i30 reiterates this feat in July by dropping only one rank to #9. Other great performers include the Ford Mondeo up 7 spots to #16, the VW Up! up 21 to break into the Polish Top 20 for the very first time at #17, the Opel Insignia up 11 to #18, Suzuki Swift up 13 to #20, Mazda6 up 16 to #32 and the Peugeot 301 making its way up the ladder at #42 (+8).
