The Greek new car market continues to show timid signs of recovery: up 2% year-on-year in June to 5,648 registrations, however let’s not forget that June 2012 was down 43% on June 2011 which was itself down 33% on June 2010… The year-to-date total now stands at 30,364 units, down 6% on 2012. Model-wise, the Top 5 best-sellers are now all superminis: the Toyota Yaris resists in pole position for the third month in a row and the 7th time in the last 12 months thanks to 287 sales and 5.1%, the VW Polo follows at 245 units and 4.3% ahead of the Nissan Micra with 232 sales and 4.1%, the Opel Corsa at 224 and 4% and the Fiat Panda at 176 and 3.1%.
Its restyling could help push the Nissan Micra further up in the coming months.
Year-to-date, the Toyota Yaris is in the lead with 2,046 sales and 6.7%, ahead of the Opel Corsa (5.2%) and VW Polo (4.4%). A lot of movement at the back end of the Top 10: the Hyundai i10 is up 15 spots on May to #7, the Seat Ibiza is up 12 to #8 and is one of two Seats inside the Top 10 this month: the Leon is up 15 ranks to #10!
