Algerian car buyers continue to lap up all the new models coming into the market this year. In April (like in March but I don’t have official data), the new generation Renault Clio is the most popular vehicle in the country with 3,476 sales. The Peugeot 301 confirms Algeria is by far its best performing market in the world so far, ranking #2 for the third consecutive month thanks to 2,734 units sold after a peak of 4,081 in March! The VW Polo rounds up the podium followed by the Seat Ibiza.
We welcome a newcomer in the Algerian models ranking this month: the new Renault Symbol lands directly in 5th place with 2,056 sales, a promising start that coincides with the disappearance of the Dacia Logan from the Top 10. Given the two models are basically the same with a different ‘face’, it will be interesting to see how they co-exist in market over the next few months. The Logan should however keep its pole position year-to-date with over 13,500 units. Helped by the success of the Clio and Symbol, Renault is the best-selling brand in April (10,229 sales) but Peugeot holds onto its top spot YTD at 35,564 units.
