Puerto Rico (USA) March 2013: Toyota RAV4 up to #5

Puerto Rican new car sales are down 7% year-on-year in March to 8,364 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 24,638 units, up 3% on 2012. The March Top 4 models is identical to the year-to-date one and Toyota monopolises the Top 2 spots: the Corolla leads the way with 594 sales and 7.1% followed by the Yaris at 463 units and 5.5% while the Mitsubishi Lancer rounds up the podium with 443 sales and 5.3% and the Hyundai Accent ranks 4th at 387 units and 4.6%.
Excellent performance of the Toyota RAV4, boosted by the generation and up to #5 with 354 sales and 4.2% and now up to #6 year-to-date vs. #12 in 2012. The Mitsubishi ASX is back up 13 ranks on February to #6 and is now #7 so far in 2013 vs. #13 last year. Other great performers this month include the Kia Forte up 20 spots to #12 and the Chevrolet Sonic up 19 to #32. There is only one non-Asian model in the Top 25: the Jeep Wrangler at #9!
