Estonia Full Year 2012: Toyota Avensis takes the lead

The Estonian new car market is up 14% year-on-year in 2012 to 19,408 registrations, and this year the pole position changes hands: the Toyota Avensis is up a fantastic 39% on 2011 to grab the top spot with 782 sales and 4% share, passing the Skoda Octavia down 22% to 747 units and 3.8% and the Nissan Qashqai down 6% to 622 sales and 3.2%. The Subaru Legacy is up 2 spots with stable sales at 506 units while the VW Golf remains #5 with 483 sales, down 7%.

Excellent performance of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV landing directly at #6, up 777% on 2011 for its first full year of sales with 456 units. The Kia Sportage is up 67% to #9, the Toyota Auris up 74% to #10, the Honda Civic up 136% to #12, the Toyota Land Cruiser 150 up 63% to #14, Toyota RAV4 up 33% to #16, the Dacia Duster up 74% to #18 and the Skoda Yeti up 72% to #19. Brand-wise, Toyota flamboyantly passes Skoda to take the lead this year thanks to sales up 43% to 2,493 units and 12.8% share, Kia is up 102% to #7, Subaru up 23% to #8, Mitsubishi up 55% to #12, Dacia up 41% to #15, Chevrolet up 88% to #16 and Audi up 62% to #18.

    I-Miev is there because Gov. sold CO2 credits to Mitsubishi and bought in turn 500 I-Mievs with low price for (mainly) social workers to use. Of course nordic climate means that during the coldest months of winter range is only about 30 km (20 miles approx)……
    These cars are the bad joke.
