Absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel for new car sales in Greece, down 47% year-on-year in November to 4,157 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 50,641 units, down 45% on 2011. For the 5th time in the last 12 months after last DecemberFebruaryAugust and October, the Toyota Yaris is the best-selling car in the country with 363 sales and 8.7%, its 2nd highest market share in the last 2 years behind the 14.7% it hit in December 2011. It is however still #2 year-to-date as the advantage the Opel Corsa has taken over the course of the year is now all but insurmountable at 3,666 units and 6.6% vs. 3,275 and 5.8% for the Yaris…

VW Up!

There are a few other great performers within the Top 10, namely the VW Up! up 11 spots on October to equal its highest ranking in Greece so far at #6 (which it hit last September also) with 142 sales and 3.4%, the Citroen C4 up 3 to #7, the Peugeot 208 lodging its third consecutive month in the Top 10 at #8 and the Skoda Fabia up a shiny 13 ranks to #9.

Further down, the Ford Focus is up 30 spots to #15, the Mercedes A-Class is up from outside the Top 80 to #18 thanks to the new model, the Volvo V40 is up 19 to #21, the Skoda Citigo up 24 to #27 and the Mini Countryman up 26 to #32. Finally, notice the Peugeot 301 registering its first 12 units in the country at #67.
