New car sales in the United Arab Emirates are up another flamboyant 35% year-on-year in Septembet to 28,650 units, bringing the year-to-date total to 228,702 units, up 29% on 2011. The Toyota Hilux ranks #1 for the 4th consecutive month and the 6th time this year with 2,120 sales and 7.4% share, adding up 15,382 and 6.7% year-to-date, now with an almost unassailable lead over the Toyota Prado (11,032 units) and the Toyota Land Cruiser (10,996) for the title of UAE’s most popular model in 2012. Exceptional performance of the medium commercial vehicle Fuso Canter, up to #2 this month at 1,244 sales and 4.#. It ranks #5 year-to-date.

Kia Quoris

There are 5 Toyotas in the Top 6 this month like in the 2012 YTD ranking with the Corolla at #5 and 3.8% and the Camry at #6 and 3.5%. The new generation Nissan Sunny is an instant success in the Emirates, pushing the nameplate up 6 ranks on last month to #7 at 785 units and 2.7% share. Other great performers include the Nissan X-Terra up 4 to #18, the Nissan Urvan up 27 to #28, the Hyundai Santa Fe up 80 to #34, the Chevrolet Malibu finally taking off, up 52 spots to #35, the Lexus ES up 11 to #38 and the Ford Figo up 85 to #52.

Infiniti JX35

As far as newcomers are concerned, for its 2nd month of sales in the Emirates the Infiniti JX35 is up to #84 with 68 sales, and in September the Peugeot 208 (7 units), VW Polo (6 sales) Chevrolet Colorado (5 units) and Kia Quoris (2 sales) all make their very first appearance in the Emirati models ranking…
