Vietnam October 2012: Toyota Fortuner and Corolla in command

The Vietnamese new car market continues to struggle this year with sales down 21% year-on-year in October to 7,430, bringing the year-to-date total to 63,358 units, down 30% on 2011. The Toyota Fortuner is the most popular model in the country for the 6th consecutive month thanks to 602 sales and 8.1% share, and therefore reinforces its 2012 year-to-date leadership at 4,549 units and 7.2%. The Toyota Corolla Altis stays solid in 2nd place with 477 sales and 6.4%, adding up to 3,567 units and 5.6% year-to-date, #2 also. Like last month the Toyota Innova rounds up the podium with 421 sales and 5.2%.
Notice also the Kia Morning up 2 spots on September to #4 at 371 units and 5%, the Toyota Camry down one but still way above its 2012 year-to-date level at 4.8% share thanks to 359 sales vs. 3.5% YTD, the Honda Civic up 16 ranks to #10 at 120 units and 1.6%, the Honda CR-V up 4 to #15 and 1.3% and the Ford Ranger also up 4 spots to #17 with 84 sales and 1.1%.
