Belgium 9 months 2012: Golf, Megane and Scenic on top

Thanks to Rutger from autoweek.nl I can share with you rare data on the Belgian new car market. Over the first 9 months of 2012, 386,733 new vehicles found a new home in the country, that’s 12% less than at the same stage one year ago. The VW Golf in up one spot on 2011 to now hold the pole position with 11,034 sales and 2.9%, ahead of the Renault Megane at 9,552 units and 2.5% and the Renault Scenic with 9,307 sales and 2.4%, up from #8 in 2011.
Sales of C4 and C4 Picasso are counted together in Belgium and add up to 8,180 at #4. They are followed by the Opel Corsa, Opel Astra, Citroen C3/C3 Picasso and VW Polo. The Nissan Qashqai is up a massive 20 spots on its 2011 ranking to land at #11 with 6,206 units, while BMW manages to place 3 models very close to the Top 10: the 5 Series is #12, followed by the 3 Series at #13 and the 1 Series at #14, up from #28 in 2011. Notice also the Citroen Berlingo up 5 ranks to #15 and the Fiat 500 up to #19.
