Poland February 2012: Chevrolet Aveo and Hyundai ix35 shine

Another excellent month for the Polish new car market, up 10% year-on-year in February to 27,089 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 54,254 units, up 15% on 2011. The entire Top 4 is unchanged vs. last month but only the Skoda Octavia improves its market share to an outstanding 6.3% thanks to 1,703 sales. The Fabia is #2 at 995 units and 3.7%, followed by the Opel Astra at 2.6% and the Toyota Yaris at 2.3%.

Hyundai ix35

Already up 17 spots in January to #8, the Chevrolet Aveo climbs a further 3 ranks this month to an amazing 5th position with 609 units and 2.2% share, it is now #6 in 2012 at 1,202 units and 2.2% also. The Fiat Panda is up 3 spots to #6, the Fiat Punto down one to #7 but #5 year-to-date, the VW Golf is up 3 ranks to #9 and the Hyundai ix35 breaks into the Polish Top 10 for the very first time at #10, up 5 spots on January.

Further down the ranking, it’s pretty clear that Dacia and Kia are on fire this month, as other great performing models include the Dacia Duster up 13 ranks to #15, the Kia Rio up 29 spots to #28, Kia Picanto up 31 ranks to #32, Peugeot 508 up 19 spots to #39 and Dacia Sandero also up 19 ranks to #51.
