Romania January 2012: A good month for luxury models

The Romanian car market starts the year with a bang, up a whopping 86% year-on-year in January at 4,937 registrations. The models ranking podium is identical to the Full Year 2011 ranking this month with the Dacia Logan #1 at 18.7% share of the market ahead of the Skoda Octavia at 6.3% and the Dacia Duster at 4.1%.
The VW Golf has a very solid month, only 3 units below the Duster at #4, as does the Ford Focus #5 again at 3.8%, the VW Jetta up to #7 at 2.6% and the VW Tiguan up 13 spots on December to a brilliant 9th place with 92 sales and 1.9%. Other great performers in January include the Hyundai ix35 at #15, the Ford Kuga up 26 ranks to #16, BMW X5 up to #20 and Mercedes ML Class up 24 spots to #21. Notice also the Range Rover Evoque breaking into the Romanian Top 50 for the first time, up 33 spots to #33.
