New Zealand October 2011: Toyota Yaris up to #3 UPDATED

New Zealand car sales are down 4% year-on-year at 7,026 units even though Japanese models supply is now back to normal. Perhaps the Rugby World Cup kept New Zealanders too busy to purchase new cars! The Toyota Corolla tops the ranking again this month with 528 sales and 7.5% and it is followed by the Hyundai i30 at 309 units and 4.4%.
Boosted by the arrival of the new generation, the Toyota Yaris jumps onto the podium with 305 sales and 4.3%, ahead of the Toyota Hilux at 4.1%, the Ford Ranger at 2.9% and the Suzuki Swift at 2.5%. Notice the Toyota RAV4 at #8, the Hyundai Santa Fe at #16 and the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon at a paltry #10 and #21 respectively… The end of an era.
