Slovakia October 2011: VW Polo jumps on podium

The Slovak car market is down 6% in October at 5,751 registrations but still up 12% year-to-date at 55,705 units. The Top 2 best-selling models are the same as last month: the Skoda Octavia is in the lead with 532 sales and 9.3% vs. 8.9% year-to-date, and the Skoda Fabia ranks 2nd at 425 units and 7.4% vs. 7.2% year-to-date.
For the very first time in 2011 the VW Polo climbs onto the Slovak podium at #3 with a brilliant 170 sales and 3% share. It is followed by the Suzuki SX4 back to its traditional level at #4 and 2.7% and the Kia Sportage down 2 spots to a still very robust #5 and 2.7% share. Other good performers in the Top 10 are the VW Passat up to #7 and 2.4%, the Renault Fluence up 16 spots to #9 and the Skoda Roomster up to #10.
Further down the ranking, notice the Skoda Yeti up 8 ranks to #15, the facelifted Suzuki Swift up 22 spots to #18, the Citroen C4 up 35 ranks to #21, the VW Tiguan up 20 spots to #29 and the BMW X6 up 19 spots to #42, the best-selling BMW in Slovakia this month.
