Turkey August 2011: Nissan Qashqai and Juke shine

With one month delay I can now share with you August figures for Turkey. For the first time this year, the market is down year-on-year at -8% with 38,875 registrations, however it is still up by a massive 38% year-to-date at 372,139 units. For the first time since March, Renault places 2 models on top: the Symbol at #1 with 2,620 sales and 6.7% and the Fluence in 2nd place at 2,280 units and 5.9%.
The Fiat Linea is down to #3 with 2,234 sales and 5.7% but still ranks 2nd year-to-date at 21,247 units and 5.7% share. The Opel Astra stays solid at #4 and 4.7% while the Hyundai Accent is back in the Top 5. Nissan shines this month with the Qashqai up 3 spots on July to #12 with 722 sales and 1.9% and the Juke up 8 spots to a best-ever #17 at 549 sales and 1.4%.

Bravo the Ford Focus III, previous model that stills a certain hit in Turkey with more than 500 unities sold! This model stills in sale in several countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Russia among others. Bravo for Fiat and Renault too that sell very well in this country.

It’s strange for Corolla, because the Auris and Verso are built in Adapazari plant in the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (http://www.toyotatr.com/). With the same base i think it’s not expensive to build in that plant the Corolla Sedan too.
Turkey is a sedan market.
Fiat Linea 2234, 21247 YTD is locally built, looks very nice.
Toyota Corolla 1095, 10955 YTD is imported, i dont know from where??
They want to build it up from 2013 in turkey for the local market and a little bit for the arabian countries.
