Hi
We’re glad to see the Ford Focus sell so well in Europe. Sure we are still behind VW but still doing pretty well nonetheless. Any predictions for next year?
@Max
The Focus and Fiesta are also strong but the main market for them doesn not absorve the sales of the golf in Germany. FOCUS – 6.000 FIESTA – 8.000 in U.K. GOLF – 20.000 in GERMANY!!!!!
Of course you’re right, Miguel.
It would be interesting to have a ranking without German cars sales in Germany, French cars sales in France, Italian cars sales in Italy…etc.
But the Golf is strong in all European countries, she would still be first…perhaps before the Mégane ?
@Max
Volkswagen sold january till july 2011 1.024.648 in europe. Among these have been 413.426 cars in Germany, this is about 40,4 %.

@Max
Max, Ford Opel Renault or Fiat will never reached the first place in Europe because sales in their countries not allowed. See the German market : 1 – VW GOLF, 2 – VW POLO – 3 – VW PASSAT – 9 – VW TOURAN… and with large numbers, the golf sells about 20.000 unities or more each month. If you look to the British Italian or French market you see Focus, Fiesta, Punto, Panda, Clio and 207 sell less than 10.000 unities!! that´s why!
I think Miguel says that 60% of Volkswagen sales in Europe are realized in Germany.
EU + EFTA had 8,4 million car sales YTD 2011.
@ Miguel: The German market does not absorb 60 % of sales. YTD 2011 europe had 8.135.064 sales, Germany had 1.883.486 sales. This is about 23 %. Check ACEA-Link to find details: http://www.acea.be/images/uploads/files/20110916_PRPC-FINAL-1107-08.pdf
Hello
Focus II + III
Astra H + J (Opel + Vauxhall)
Clio II + III
Funny how the top ten is full of 1-2s, Golf-Polo, Focus-Fiesta, Corsa-Astra, Clio-Megane… And then the Passat ruining everything
@sith
I agree 100% with you Sith! VW leads because the German market absorves 60% of sales. It´s an unfair game. Have you noticed that there are 3 VW models as best selling in Germany?! The golf, polo and passat! And the Germa car market has increased sales since last year. On the other hand, in France, Britain, Italy… sales has dropped.
who cares volkswagon?
