Venezuela August 2011: Old gen Mitsubishi Lancer still strong

The Venezuelan car market is stable in August at 10,987 registrations, with the year-to-date total down 4% at 78,346 units. The Chevrolet Aveo dominates again with 2,061 sales and 18,8% share, reinforcing its 2011 leadership at 13,498 units and 17.2%.
The Ford Fiesta stays 2nd at 9.7% and the Chevrolet Optra is back to its traditional 3rd spot at 6.4% share after 2 months off. Another outstanding month for the huge Ford F350 at #4 with 683 sales and 6.2%, even improving its share on an already impressive July figure. The previous gen Mitsubishi Lancer sees its share go up to 5.9% this month at #5.
Other good performers this month include the Hyundai Getz at #7 and 5%, the Hyundai Elantra at #10 and 3.6%, the new Ford F250 at #11 and 3.3% and the Peugeot 207 at #12 and 3%.
