*Now updated with the Top 200 best-selling models: see ‘Read more’, thanks Austin!*
At last a positive month in Spain, albeit August, traditionally the slowest month of the year. At 47,303 registrations, the Spanish car market is up 5% year-on-year this month. The year-to-date figure is down 22% at 569,853 units, the lowest since 1993…
Big event on top: the Ford Focus new generation takes the lead at 1,661 sales and 3.5% share, only ONE unit above the Seat Leon at 1,660! This score enables the Leon to climb to #3 year-to-date at 16,167 units and 2.5%, however the Focus stays 9th at 15,108 sales and 2.4% but should jump up a few spots in the next couple of months.
The Nissan Qashqai is back up to #3 at 1,590 units and 3.4%, ahead of the Seat Ibiza at 3.2% but still number one year-to-date at 22,575 units and 3.7% share. Great month for Ford (it is the #1 brand in August) with the Fiesta up 13 spots on July to land 8th with 1,103 sales and 2.3%. The Hyundai i30 is up 13 spots to #25 and the Toyota Yaris up 35 spots to #15.
Further down the ranking, notice the Hyundai ix35 at #27 (+28 on July), the Chevrolet Cruze at #30 (+22) and the Citroen DS3 at #77 (+36).
