Turkey June 2011: Fiat Linea confirms pole position

Coming one month late as usual, Turkish June car sales figures are again excellent: up a massive 35% year-on-year at 56,714 units and bringing the 2011 year-to-date total to 289,746, up 56%. The Fiat Linea surprises again and confirms the pole position it acquired last month by delivering 3,910 units for a 6.9% market share. It stays #2 year-to-date at 16,227 sales and 5.6%.

The two best-selling Renaults follow: the Symbol is #2 with 3,458 sales and 6.1%, #1 year-to-date at 18,577 units and 6.4%, and the Fluence is #3 both this month with 3,209 sales and 5.7% and in 2011 at 14,672 units and 5.1%. Outstanding month for the Opel Astra up to 4th place with a very robust 5.2% share ahead of the Ford Fiesta at 3.5%.

Boosted by the new generation, the Ford Focus sedan jumps up 5 spots to #7 and the hatchback version is up 10 spots to #8, both versions at 3.1%. Notice the Hyundai i20 ranking 10th for the third consecutive month at a solid 2.1% and the Mercedes C Class strong again at #15 with 1.7% share of the Turkish market.
