The Czech new car market is back in positive at +6% and 12,118 registrations, making the 7 months 2011 total stable year-on-year at 100,402 units. The two traditional blockbusters of the market hold onto their position: the Skoda Octavia improves its market share vs. June to 14.8% and 1,791 sales while the Skoda Fabia falls slightly to 9.1% and 1,102 units.
For the first time in 18 months, the Kia Cee’d, produced in neighbouring Slovakia, is the best-selling foreign model in Czech Republic with 348 sales and 2.9% share but is only #10 year-to-date at 2.1%. The Ford Focus drops to #4 at 2.5% and the Renault Megane is up 10 spots to #5 with 302 sales and 2.5% share also.
All Skodas are still within the Top 10, with the Superb dropping 2 spots to #6, the Roomster falling one rank to #9 and the Yeti down 3 spots to #10. Good performers this month include the Kia Sportage up to #19, the VW Touareg up to #35 and the Chevrolet Orlando up to #39.
