Germany June 2011: Mercedes C Class #2 for 1st time in 7 months

German car sales stabilise in June at 288,382 units (-0.3%), bringing the 1st Half total to 1,622,579 registrations, up 10.5%. The VW Golf is down one percentage point on May at 7.4% with 21,388 sales vs. 7.9% over 2011. The Mercedes C Class is up 3 spots to #2 for the first time since November 2010 at 8,756 sales and 3%.
Two more models hold 3% of the German market this month: the VW Passat and Opel Astra. They are followed by the VW Polo, #5 with 2.9%. The BMW 1 Series shines at #6 and 2.4%, up 4 spots on May. The electric Opel Ampera makes its first appearance in the German models ranking at #243 with 27 sales for its very first month in the country.
