Brazil June 2011: VW Gol and Fiat Uno both strong

VW Gol

The Brazilian car market is up 16% this month at 286,934 registrations and 10% year-to-date at 1,638,078 units. The two traditional best-sellers are both in good shape in June: the VW Gol sells 27,428 units, its highest volume in 6 months, for a 9.6% market share, its best since January.

Fiat Uno

The Fiat Uno delivers the best-ever market share in the country for the new generation at 8.9% and it 2nd best-ever volume at 25,432 units. The year-to-date figure stands at 133,395 units or 8.1% compared to 8.9% and 145,255 sales for the Uno. The Chevrolet Celta stays very solid at 4.7% share this month, followed by the Chevrolet Corsa, Fiat Strada, Siena and Palio – back to 3%.

Citroen C3 Picasso

Among new models, both JAC models start to curb their progression, wit the J3 up 3 spots on May at #36 and the J3 Turin up 4 spots to #56, while the VW Jetta is up 7 spots to #39. The Chery QQ is up 19 spots on May but down 13 spots on mid-June at #59. The Citroen C3 Picasso appears for the first time in the ranking at #94 with 120 sales.
