Belgium January 2011: Golf #1, Megane/Fluence #3

Renault Fluence

Car sales in Belgium are up 8% year-on-year in January at 53,236 registrations. No surprises on top, the VW Golf leads the way ahead of the VW Polo, exactly like in October 2010 (date of my last figures), however with weaker market shares at 3.3% and 2.8% respectively.

The Renault Megane/Fluence (sales of the two models are not separated) jumps onto the podium with 1,436 sales and 2.7%, followed by the Ford Fiesta and Opel Astra. The Opel Insignia is in the Top 10 and seems to get better with age… Notice the strong showings of the BMW 5 Series (#13), Volvo S60/V60 (#16) and Dacia Duster (#22).
