Estonia 2009: Renault Megane takes the lead

Estonian car sales crumble to the ground this year at -60% and 9,946 registrations. But the market leader absolutely ignored this trend: the Renault Megane, significantly helped by the new generation now on sale, gained 182% on 2008 at 710 sales and saw its market share multiplied by 7 to 7.1%. In 2nd place, the Skoda Octavia lost 46% but gained 3 spots and one percentage point of market share to 398 units and 4%.
Last year’s leader, the Mazda6, is down to #3 at 335 units, down 69%, and is followed by the Toyota Avensis (-63%) and the Renault Scenic landing directly in 5th place with 276 sales and 2.8% for its first year in Estonia. The Toyota Corolla is up 4 ranks to #6 and the Hyundai i30 is the other newcomer in the Top 10 at #7.
