Sweden 2004-2005: Volvo V70 #1, V50 arrives

The Swedish car market is pretty stable over the period at 264,212 registrations in 2004 and 274,301 in 2005. The Volvo V/C70 stays comfortably on top of the sales ranking with ever strong market shares of 9.9% in 2004 and 10.2% in 2005.
The Saab 9-5 sees its share drop to 5.5% in 2004, then it falls to #3 in 2005 at 4.3%. It is passed by the new smaller Volvo station wagon, the V50: launched in 2004 (#7 at 3.1%), it climbs to #2 in 2005 at 12,484 sales (4.6%). The Saab 9-3 loses ground, going from 3rd in 2004 to 5th in 2005. The VW Golf is 4th both years and the best-selling foreign model, followed by the Peugeot 307 in 2004 and the Ford Focus in 2005.
