Austria 2004: VW Golf V leads the way, Sharan shines

Car sales are up 3% in Austria this year at 311,292 registrations. Launched last year, the VW Golf V reaches its full potential in 2004, delivering what will end up being its best ever monthly volumes in the country in March (2,170) and April (2,181). It is #1 11 months out of 12 and finishes the year at 17,677 sales and 5.7% of the market.
VW Sharan
The Skoda Fabia gains one spot in 2nd at 8,966 sales, just ahead of the VW Polo at 8,929, both at 2.9% share. The Audi A4 stays 4th at 7,188 sales, followed by the Ford Focus, both with 2.3%. Notice the new gen Opel Astra directly in 9th (1.8%). The VW Sharan is #11 overall (1.7%) but was #1 in December.
