Australia 1948-1949: Austin A40 dominates sales
I have very little information about the Australian car market over the period, only that the locally assembled Austin A40 is the best-selling model in the country in 1948 and 1949 just before the Holden cranked up its production.
If you have more information please make sure to get in touch!

My Dad had two of these. In the back they have arm rests and a drop down arm rest in the middle. I always thought that they were seats. I reckon that we used to have about 10 kids piled in the back of that thing, of to Waitahanui for a BBQ/picnic at the lake. No such thing as seat belts and they had the funniest little indicators that popped out the side. We called it the Bomb, and when we were teenagers we were so shamed out when we got dropped off to school. I would sooo love to have one now!!! 🙂
