Guadeloupe (France) Full Year 2017: Peugeot tops record market

Peugeot is the most popular carmaker in Guadeloupe in 2017. 

Today we can share with you information on the new car market in Guadeloupe, a French overseas archipelago located in the Caribbean Sea. Note this data isn’t included in the France data. New light vehicle sales in Guadeloupe are very dynamic in 2017 at +13.8% to 18.758 units, split between 16.170 passenger cars (+13.8%) and 2.588 light commercials (+13.6%). This is a new all-time record for passenger cars, smashing the previous best of 15.539 reached back in 2007. No specific brands or models data is available, only that Peugeot is the most popular carmaker in the archipelago followed by Renault and Dacia, and that the largest year-on-year gains are delivered by Dacia, Citroen, Peugeot, Toyota and Renault. Sales to rental car companies are up 88% year-on-year in 2017. We have more data for 2016, namely a Top 10 brands, see below the jump.

Guadeloupe (France) Full Year 2013: Renault passes Peugeot for #1

This year in Guadeloupe, new car sales are up 5% on 2012 to 14.625 units, and after 49 consecutive years of domination of Peugeot, Renault takes the lead of the brands ranking thanks to sales up 8% to 2.241 units (including Dacia). Peugeot follows (-14%) ahead of Citroen (-19%) only 9 units above Volkswagen (+11%) with Toyota rounding up the Top 5.
