Ethiopia Full Year 2025: Roewe i5 topples Toyota Land Cruiser 70

The Roewe i5 is the best-selling vehicle in Ethiopia in 2025.

The Ethiopian new light vehicle market is surging in 2025 at +66.6% year-on-year to 4,665 units. We have a new leader in the models charts: coming out of nowhere (ie outside the 2024 Top 10), the Roewe i5 soars directly to the pole position at 18% share. Last year’s leader, the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 (-14.5%) sees its share cut in half, going from 26.1% to 13.4%. Meanwhile the Foton TM (+222.5%) leaps up six spots on 2024 to land on the third step of the podium. The JMEV EV2, GSE and JAC E-JS1 and T8 also point their bonnet inside the 2025 Top 10.
