Egypt Full Year 2025: Nissan Sunny threepeats at #1 in market back up 68.8%

The Egyptian new light vehicle market continues to recover in 2025 with sales up 68.8% year-on-year to 163,199, the highest annual volume since the 174,538 of 2022. Toppled by Chevrolet over the First Half of 2025, Nissan (+60.7%) reclaims the top spot by year end but its share drops slightly to 16%. Chevrolet (+165.5%), meanwhile is up spectacularly and gains three spots on 2024 to #2 with 14.7% share. Chery (+35.4%) is pushed down to #3 while MG (+117.1%) advances two ranks to #4. Hyundai (+40%) is the last carmaker with a double-digit share, meaning the Top 5 brands hold 62.7% of the market. Below, notice Renault up 96.9%, BAIC up 382.9% to #9, Fiat up 298.4% and Changan up 360.9% to #11. BYD sinks -63.6% to #20.

Over in the models charts, the Nissan Sunny previous generation (+48%) threepeats at #1 but sees its share thaw from 12.6% to 11%. Reversely the Chevrolet T-Series pickup (+132%), once dominant here, is catching up for lost time and stays #2 with 10.4% share vs. 7.6% in 2024. The Hyundai Elantra (+84.5%) is up three spots to land on the third step of the podium but the performer of the year is the Chevrolet Optra (+36542.9%) up to #4 thanks to a new generation. The MG ZS (+165.3%) is also in outstanding shape and gains 7 ranks to #5. Chery places the Tiggo 4 Pro at #6, the Arrizo 5 at #8 and the Tiggo 7 at #9. The MG 5 (+138.6%) breaks into the Top 10 at #10.
