Turkiye Full Year 2025: Renault and Clio take the lead in record market

For the third consecutive year the Turkish new light vehicle market breaks its annual volume record. This year it is up a splendid 10.5% to a new all time high 1,368,400 units. This is only the third time in history the annual Turkish market is millionaire. Monthly records were broken in March, April, June, August, September, October, November and December when 191,620 units were sold, the largest volume of any month in history.

We have a big event in the brands charts: Renault (+8%) overtakes Fiat (-14.5%) to snap the pole position even though it trails the market to 10.5% share. The Italian carmaker falls from 11.2% to 8.7% share. Meanwhile Volkswagen (+15.8%) passes Ford (+4.5%) for the third spot and Toyota (+51.4%) advances four ranks to #5. Opel (+20.9%), Peugeot (+17.6%) and Citroen (+16.7%) also impress below but the best performer in the Top 10 is BYD, up 5-fold (+446.6%) and 16 spots to #10 and 3.3% share. Local EV maker Togg (+29.7%) is up to #13 overall with 2.9% of its home market and Tesla surges 173.2% and 9 ranks to #15 and 2.3% share.

We also have a big change in the passenger cars models ranking: the Renault Clio (+1.7%) takes the overall lead off the Fiat Egea Sedan (-27.4%) freefalling to #3. This ends a streak of 9 consecutive years of Egea domination, although to be fair, when adding Egea Cross sales counted separately, the Egea nameplate would still be by far the #1. The Renault Megane Sedan (+20%) lodges an impressive result and ascends to #2 while the Toyota Corolla Sedan and Estate (+13.6%) stays at #4. Outstanding year for the Tesla Model Y up 173.2% and 21 spots to #5, it even led the market outright in June and August. The BYD Seal U (+458.5%) does even better at #6 ahead of the local Togg T10X (-8.3%) down two ranks to #7. Notice also the Citroen C4 X (+24.2%) at #11, Turkiye being the only country in the world where it is successful (same thing for the Peugeot 408 at #21). The Togg T10F (#29) is the best-selling 2025 launch above the Opel Frontera (#33).
