According to data shared with us by our local partner cartube.co.il, the Israeli new car market is up by a solid 8% year-on-year in 2025 to 293,591 units. Toyota (+4%) easily retains the brands top spot at 12.2% share, distancing Hyundai (+9.8%) like last year. Kia (-5.5%) and Skoda (+7.9%) are both pushed down one spot to #4 and #5 respectively. Jaecoo (+1100.4%) is the success story of the year, leaping from #35 and 0.5% share in 2024 to #6 with 5.6% of the market. It peaked at #4 and 8.5% share in May. Fellow Chinese BYD (-21.7%) recedes quite significantly to #7. Below, Nissan (+71.5%), MG (+29.4%) and Xpeng (+25.6%) stand out. Dongfeng peaked at #4 in December and Deepal at #10 the same month. Overall, Chinese carmakers surge 73.5% to 87,060 sales and 29.7% share vs. 18.5% in 2024 and peaked at 49.5% in September.

Model-wise, the ranking is completely reshuffled. The Jaecoo J7 (+1021.6%) spectacularly takes the lead with a stunning 5.2% share, up 57 spots on 2024. This makes the third consecutive year a Chinese model is the best-seller in Israel. It distances the Hyundai Kona (+84.6%) up six ranks to #2 and the Toyota Corolla Cross (+35.3%) up one to #3. The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro (+98.1%) doubles its sales year-on-year to #4 ahead of the Kia Picanto (+50.6%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+20%). The BYD Seal U (+1181.8%) storms into the Top 10 at #10 whereas last year’s leader the BYD Atto 3 (-48.2%) drops to #12 and didn’t sell anything over Q4. Similarly, the Hyundai Elantra (-27.5%), #2 in 2024, falls to #9. The best-selling 2025 launch is the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro at #24, followed by the Geely EX5 at #41 and the Jaecoo 5 at #71.
