Ireland Full Year 2025: Hyundai Tucson signs 5th straight win

New car sales in Ireland edge up 3.1% year-on-year in 2025 to 124,954 units. Toyota (-3.7%) remains the most popular carmaker in the country but sees its share thaw from 14.5% in 2024 to 13.5% now. In fact the Top 5 is unchanged on last year, with Volkswagen (+6.6%), Skoda (+0.5%), Hyundai (+3.6%) and Kia (+7.2%) in tow and all in positive. BMW (+11.3%) lodges the only double-digit gain in the Top 10 and advances two spots to #6 as a result. Below, BYD (+80.2%), Renault (+19.1%) and Suzuki (+14.9%) stand out.

Model-wise, the Hyundai Tucson (-11.8%) signs a 5th consecutive annual win and 8th in the past 10 years, widening the gap wit the #2, the Skoda Octavia (-16.9%) from 835 to 959 units. The Kia Sportage (-10.4%) rounds out the podium like last year. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+1.1%) overtakes the RAV4 (-9.4%) to snap the 4th place overall, while the Toyota Corolla (-0.5%) and Skoda Kodiaq (+9.2%) both take advantage of a weak VW Tiguan (-7%) to climb to #6 and #7 respectively.
