Germany private sales Full Year 2025: VW T-Roc, Fiat Ducato and BMW X1 dominate

968,723 new cars were purchased by German private buyers in 2025, up 5.8% year-on-year. This represents a 33.9% share vs. 32.5% in 2024 and 32.9% in 2023. The VW T-Roc (+1.4%) remains by far the favourite with over 36,000 sales. It distances the Fiat Ducato (+23.4%) up three spots to #2 with a 71.4% private sales ratio (PSR). The BMW X1 (+51.3%) is the most improved model in the Top 10, up 11 ranks to #3 and commanding a 41.2% PSR vs. 34.5% last year. The Dacia Sandero (-21.2%) and VW Golf (-11.4%) both drop two ranks to #4 and #5 respectively. The VW ID.3 (+44.9%) surges 12 spots to #9 with a 44.8% PSR while the Skoda Elroq lands direct at #13 with 52.8% PSR.
