The Chery Tiggo 4 breaks all its records in November.

Business fleets fall -4.9% to 35,970 but rental sales surge +19.4% to 7,919 off a -15.9% fall last year, and government fleets sink -10.8% to 2,746. All states and territories are in negative this month apart from Tasmania up +14.7% to 1,883 and Western Australia up +1.9% to 10,457. In contrast New South Wale is at -1.4% to 30,062, Victoria at -2.7% to 25,995, Queensland at -3.5% to 20,572, South Australia at -7.5% to 6,09, Australian Capital Territory at -2.3% to 1,302 and Northern Territory at -7.8% to 670.

First monthly win since February for the Toyota RAV4.

In the brands ranking, Toyota (-3.8%) remains strong at 19.8% share, followed by Ford (-15.1%) and Mazda (-8%) both in difficulty. Hyundai (+19.6%) overtakes sister brand Kia (+1.6%) but stays far below YTD. Mitsubishi (-28.9%) is in freefall but still manages at 6th place like YTD. This month there are three Chinese brands inside the Top 10. GWM (+16.7%) is on top again with 4.2% share, followed by a surging BYD (+144.2%) and Chery (+105.3%). Astoundingly, Chery breaks its volume record (3,617) for the 9th consecutive month and reaches an all-time high 3.6% share. Tesla is up 6.4% to #12 while MG (-47.3%) completely crashes to #13, sliding outside the Top 10 for the 4th time this year and the brand’s lowest ranking in Australia in almost 5 years: since December 2020 (#14). Among Chinese newcomers, Geely is #23, Zeekr is up 11 spots on last month to #24, Omoda Jaecoo is #27 and Leapmotor #41.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota RAV4 (+15.6%) is in the lead for the first time since February, taking advantage of discounts on the outgoing generation to sign its 2nd best ever month at 6,390 sales and 6.4% share (record is 6,712 and 6.7% share in August 2024). This is however not enough to shake the YTD order where it still ranks #3. The Ford Ranger (-9.4%) is back above the Toyota Hilux (-4.3%) and even more so in the 4×4 ute race (4,515 vs. 3,087). Exceptional performance of the Chery Tiggo 4 (+207%) smashing all its records its records this month at #4 with 2,287 sales and 2.3% share (previous best #6 last September and October, 2,065 sales and 2% last July). The Tiggo 4 is only the third Chinese model to crack the monthly Australian Top 5 after the MG ZS (record #3 in December 2022 and July 2023) and the BYD Shark 6 (#5 in June 2025). The Tesla Model Y (+37.3%) lodges a splendid month and climbs back up 31 ranks on October to #5. Excellent scores also by the Hyundai Kona (+57%), Isuzu MU-X (+32.8%), GWM Haval Jolion (+26.4%) and Hyundai Tucson (+25.9%).
